ICT Programmes for Schools
We offer digital literacy programmes for schools (early years, primary and secondary). These programmes are available as part of a school’s extra curricular learning or as enrichment classes.
Cambridge ICT Starters
Cambridge ICT Starters is a curriculum and assessment package, designed and accredited by Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE), a division of the prestigious University of Cambridge, United Kingdom. The syllabus is mapped against International standards, so that the ICT skills assessed reflect the performance standards demanded in an international context. At each stage of assessment, students are required to demonstrate their skills in using ICT to communicate, handle information, model and measure and control. This framework of learning equips students with an excellent skillset. Students who complete the scheme will be awarded certificates accredited by CAIE.
Fun with Code
Fun with Code is our coding starter course which introduces young learners to visual block coding concepts through exploratory learning. Students will build, create and design fun games using Scratch – a phenomenal and widely used programming language for novice programmers. This short course is developed for students aged 9 to 14 with little to no coding experience. Fun with Code brings teaching beyond the classroom and can be made as part of a school’s extra curricular learning program or as an enrichment class.
Kinder Doc
Kinder Doc is a web-based pedagogical solution for early childhood care and education centres. It is designed for teachers, as well as the families and students connected to their kindergarten, tadika, tabika and preschool. It guides teachers in meeting their requirements for teaching and assessing. Easy, lovely templates guide teachers on lesson planning and observational tools help them meet requirements in assessments which align with learning outcomes by the Kurikulum Standard Prasekolah Kebangsaan (KSPK). Kinder Doc helps teachers be more effective and reflective teachers who seek positive outcomes for their young students. Kinder Doc makes it easy to share images and communications- connecting families meaningfully to learning that happens in the classroom and strengthening community.
One Laptop per Child (OLPC)
One Laptop per Child (OLPC) is a non-profit initiative established with the goal of transforming education for children around the world. OLPC has done this by creating self-powering, incredibly designed educational devices, the XO laptops, and creating software and content for those devices through Sugar Labs by Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT Media Lab). We have distributed XO laptops to rural schools and communities in Sarawak as part of a wider initiative to bridge the digital divide. We have trained school teachers, used the XO laptops and Sugar activities to complement classroom curriculum, encouraged students to explore learning beyond the classroom and to share their learning with their families and communities.
Intel® Learn Technology and Community
Intel® Learn Technology and Community is an informal education programme designed to develop the technology skills of young learners in developing countries. The programme uses creative, technology-based projects to tap into children’s interest in their own communities, and help them build the skills needed to create solutions. As the appointed sole licensor in Malaysia, Danawa was responsible for promoting Intel® Learn, conducting training for trainers and monitoring and supporting local trainers and learners of Intel® Learn. Our local partner, Medan Sedunia Digital (MSD), played a pivotal role in enabling nationwide adoption of the programme at community-based internet centres in both West and East Malaysia.
Intel® Learn Easy Steps
Intel® Learn Easy Steps is a digital literacy education program for secondary level and adult learners with little or no experience with computers. It was implemented as part of Intel’s Digital Inclusion programme in Malaysia. Danawa served as the main training agency for Intel and conducted Training-Of-Trainer (TOT) sessions nationwide for the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC). Major Malaysian telcos and service providers were invited to participate, including Telekom Malaysia (TM) – MSD Digital Intelligence (MSD), Maxis – Nera Infocom (M), P1 WiMax (Perfect One Mobile Network) – Nera Infocom (M), Celcom Axiata – Nusuara Technologies, Digi – Creative Century Management, Redtone – Creative Century Management, TIME dotCom – Creative Century Management and Danawa Resources.
OCR Certificate/ Diploma for IT Users
OCR Certificate/Diploma for IT Users (New CLAiT International and CLAiT Plus International) is a qualification designed to recognise the skills, knowledge and understanding of IT users everywhere, whether in employment, education or training. The courses equip learners with the basic range of transferable skills necessary to meet the demands of the modern workplace, and will prepare learners for progression to further training and accreditation in IT User skills at higher levels of study.
