Intel® Learn Easy Steps

In November 2009, Danawa was appointed as the sole licensor for the Intel® Learn Technology and Community programme in Malaysia, being the 2nd country in the Asia Pacific Region to offer this programme. We were responsible for promoting the Intel® Learn programme in Malaysia, for conducting training for local partners to qualify as trainers for the programme and for monitoring and supporting local trainers and learners of the programme. We were also responsible for the local adaption of the Intel® Learn courseware to Bahasa Malaysia for use by our local partners.

Together with our key local partner, we secured programme implementation rights to Community Broadband Centres (CBCs) / Pusat Jalurlebar Komuniti (PJK) under the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) initiative (note: these centres are now referred to as Pusat Internet 1Malaysia (PI1M)). 95 local trainers have undergone Training-Of-Trainer (TOT) organised by Danawa and more than 900 learners have successfully completed the programme.

The TOT sessions were funded through Intel Foundation, USA as part of its commitment to further digital literacy in rural and underserved communities in the world. In February 2014, the Intel® Learn Technology and Community programme made way for the expansion of the  Intel® Learn Easy Steps programme in Malaysia.

The Intel® Learn Easy Steps programme is implemented as part of Intel’s Digital Inclusion programme in Malaysia. Danawa serves as the main training agency for this programme with TOT sessions carried out in different locations nationwide. To date, we have conducted 13 cohorts and successfully trained 399 local trainers.
